Mercy and Grace Provided
Matthew 27:51, “And behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth shook and the rocks were split.”
In the temple there was a place referred to as the holy of holies where only the priest could enter. This place was significant because it was looked upon as containing the very presence of God. The holy of holies was uniquely separated from the holy place by the temple veil. However, something quite significant happened when Jesus gave up His life on the cross. The temple veil was torn in two from top to bottom. The tearing of the veil is significant because it shows us that Christ’s sacrifice on the cross was affective to bring anyone into the presence of God. Through Christ’s sacrificial work we are able to draw near to God knowing that through Jesus our sins are forgiven. We are encouraged by Hebrews 4:16 which says, “Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” Dear child of God do you know that you have access to the throne of God? What a precious place we have access to because of the shed blood of Jesus. We have a place to find grace and mercy which are two very important divine provisions of God that every believer needs. I don’t know your need today. But, I am certain you will need to experience God’s mercy and grace. Jesus sacrifice has granted us access to these divine resources.
